| This year's Race to Erase will see proceeds benefit the London Food Bank. This organization helps individuals in the area who are experiencing difficulty securing food for themselves and their families. Last year, the London Food Bank helped an average of 2,500 families per month, with 41% of food distributed to feed children and youth. However, in 2009, employees and volunteers have seen an increase in families visiting the Food Bank, with the number of those requiring assistance rising to 3,000 per month. Dollars raised will go toward the much-needed services that the Food Bank offers to those in need in the community.
![]() Proceeds from the Sarnia Race to Erase will benefit Goodwill Industries Essex Kent Lambton and its establishment of an attended donation drive-thru centre. This donation centre allows Goodwill to receive higher quality goods, while dramatically decreasing processing times and operating costs. These donated goods get onto the shelves for purchase more quickly, allowing the money obtained from the retail sale to go back into the Goodwill’s employment training and counseling programs. These programs provide those with employment barriers the job skills and training they need to find and keep work.
